Pretty Yellow Flowers
![]() |
Oh, how I wish I knew the names of flowers. This one was absolutely beautiful. I found it in one of my neighbor’s yards as I took my daily walk. I have some very talented neighbors when it comes to gardening and growing things. |
My thumb is the furthest thing from green, but I sure do like the beautiful plants and flowers as I walk each day! I would love to hear from some of you experts as to what kind of flower this is.

Hey Cindy!
I’m no expert, but isn’t that beautiful flower a hibiscus??? I think sometimes they are orange too! That is my mom’s favorite (the orange!) Miss you! Jennifer

To be more specific, I think it’s the Hawaiian Hibiscus!

Hi Cindy,
That is a Hibiscus flower. There are two kinds. Hardy or tropical. Here in the Northern states, we grow the hardy hibiscus outdoors which is a gorgeous bush producing flowers the size of dinner plates. We purchase the tropical hibiscus also and put them on our deck in the summer time and bring them into the house for the winter where they keep producing flowers. Being you are from the South, it probably is a tropical hibiscus. They are fairly easy to grow and require a lot of water.

Thanks everyone for you comments!! I’m learning more and more about flowers! I still don’t like gardening myself, but I sure do like looking at all the pretty flowers!
