Oh, How I Love Excel!

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

Whew!  I know I haven’t posted lately.  There’s a good reason for that.  I’ve been teaching Excel classes at the local community college.  I really had to study up on all my Excel because I had to teach 3 classes - Basic Excel, Intermediate Excel and Advanced Excel.  I did everything from explaining WHAT Excel is to programming macros in Visual Basic for Applications from scratch.  It was an exciting two weeks, but I have to say I’m glad it’s over.

I’m not used to having to get up, get dressed, put on make-up and get to ‘work’ on time!  Thank goodness I didn’t have to be there until 1:00! :)

All in all, I really enjoyed it and had some wonderful, friendly students in my class.  I hope they learned as much as I did!  That’s why I enjoy teaching, I always learn something new.  And, for me, that’s what life is all about - learning!!

Ping Pong Anyone?

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

My kids were introduced to ping pong during our recent trip to Florida.  The clubhouse where we stayed had a ping pong table and that’s where they wanted to stay a good part of the trip.

So, guess what I now have in my Dining Room?  Yep, you guessed it, a make-shift ping pong table.

We got a slick sturdy 4×8 board and laid it on top of the dining room table.  We added a couple of bar stools to the ends for support and now all we need is a net.

We’ve been playing ping pong every day and every night.  The table works ok, but I think, since we’ve proven that we will use it, I’ll splurge and get the kids a real ping pong table.  Maybe we can replace the dining room table with the ping pong table and just eat off of it??

It’s really been a lot of fun!  But, one word of advice: Cats and ping pong balls do not mix well. :)
