Well, I have good news and bad news. All in the same day, one kids gets his braces off, and the youngest finds out she has to get them! Oh, well, it wasn’t much of a surprise. We could tell that she was going to need them, but I never dreamed it would be this soon!! She’s only 7 – almost 8!
When I got my braces on I was at least 12 or 13. They really start them a lot younger now. How can they do that? She doesn’t even have any teeth in front!! How can you put braces on teeth that aren’t there?
Anyway, I should have known. They put braces on my son when he was 9 and only had 4 teeth in front – all the others were still gone, except for some way in the back. And today, he still only has the 4 and a fifth peeking through. Hard to believe they’ll all grow in straight, but I’m sure those guys know what they are doing.
They said he would get a retainer, but all he got was a plastic thing to guard his teeth!! No wire to it!!! You can hardly see it! That’s not a retainer! It’s just a mouth guard like he wears in karate and soccer!! Wow things have changed.
Surely I’m not getting old! Where’s the wire?
