“and in the morning you will see the glory of the LORD…”
–Exodus 16:7a (NASB)

I read a scripture this morning that got me to thinking….
Joshua 1:2 (NASB) 2“Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.
This, of course, has a special meaning for me since my business is called Promised Land Services. Anything to do with crossing over to the promised land makes me sit up and take notice.
But, what stuck out at me this morning is when God told Joshua, “Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise…”
Sometimes we must forget the past and move on to bigger and better things. We have to quit mourning and arise. We have to realize when a master is dead and quit serving that master.
Somehow I got it stuck in my head that when God calls me to something I must stick with it no matter what. But, I’m learning that God created seasons and sometimes His calling is for a season. Sometimes it’s to help me grow to something new and better. Something bigger than what I had before.
He’s leading us to the Promised Land. A land of abundance and plenty. A land filled with pleasure and goodness. A land that I don’t want to miss by serving an old master that is dead.
Join me on the journey to the Promised Land and let the past be the past…

I read a lot of things every morning trying to find something that will give me inspiration throughout the day. Of course, I get most of my inspiration from my Bible, but, in addition I read several devotionals and Christian books, listen to tapes, CD’s, watch Christian TV & radio, etc.
Sometimes, though, my inspiration comes from the most unexpected places! This morning, as I made my morning cup of hot tea, I was looking for some nutritional information on the box of the new tea I was trying out. And there on the bottom of the box was a quote:
“There are two ways of spreading light: to be The candle or the mirror that reflects it.” –EDITH WHARTON
That’s just the inspiration that I needed this morning!
I am always amazed at how God can use so many different things and so many different ways to speak to me - and from so many different sources! I used to never watch much TV - thought it was a waste of time. But, my husband and kids watched quite a bit and so, I often heard the shows. I remember a time when God spoke to me through Granny Clampett from the Beverly Hillbillies and another time when He spoke to me through Spanky on the Li’l Rascals. If He can use them to reach me, He can use anything!
God created it all. And He can speak through anything here on this earth.
He uses circumstances and things to speak to little ole’ me. Unbelievable.
Who am I that He would want to speak to me?
Just another empty vessel - a creation of His - that He can use anyway He wants. Maybe He’ll choose to use me to speak to someone else!
And just in case you were wondering - the new tea wasn’t bad either!
